Registering -vs- Recording

Registered
Angora Goats are those that have been proven to meet the minimum American
Colored Angora Goat Registry breed standard listed on the Goat Registry Inspection Form
available in the reference materials section of this website.

Registration may be based on one of two criteria:
1) Sire and Dame are registered.  2) Physical or Photo Inspection.

Recorded Angora Goats are those that have not been proven to meet the minimum American
Colored Angora Goat Registry breed standard.  The breed standard is shown on the Goat
Registry Inspection form available in the reference materials section of this website.  Recording or
recordation is for the breeder that would like to have a record to preserve the bloodline history for
tracking and pedigree purposes and to meet show entry requirements when necessary.  Upon
presenting documentation that one of the two criteria for registration have been met, a recorded
goat may be upgraded to fully registered status.
To record a goat complete the Recordation Application Form that is available on the Fee
Information & Forms page of this website.

How To Register Or Record Your Purebred or Colored Angora Goat

If the Sire and Dam of the goat you wish to register are registered:
1) Complete the Application For Registration form that is available on the Fee Information &
Forms page of this website.
2) Complete as much of the pedigree information on the application as possible.  To make the
application process easier, copies of pedigree information from other sources is acceptable.
Simply attach copies to the application.  Because this is a relatively young registry, we are in the
process of building a pedigree data base and need your information for input.  The pedigree
information included on your new registration certificate is dependent on the information that you
submit with your application.  Keep copies of applications, etc., that you send to us because only
your registration certificate will be returned to you.  Any information that you send us is owned
by you.  Our only function is to recognize that your goat has met the minimum American Colored
Angora Goat Registry breed standard and is based on information that you have provided.

If your goats' registration will be based on a physical or photo inspection:
1) Complete the Application For Registration form that is available on the Fee Information &
Forms page of this website.

3) Complete the Goat Registry Inspection Form that is available in the reference materials section
of this website.  To complete a physical inspection you will need two inspectors other than the
owner or breeder of the goat for which registration is requested.  Inspectors are designated by the
American Colored Angora Goat Registry.  Persons designated as inspectors by the Colored
Angora Goat Breeders Association/CAGBA are acceptable as inspectors.  Both inspectors must
certify that the inspected goat meets the American Colored Angora Goat Registry breed standard
listed in the reference materials section of this website.  Goats being inspected must be a
minimum of 12 months old and are inspected before shearing with a minimum of 4 months hair
growth. Goats that fail inspection may still be recorded.

If you would like a picture of your goat included on your registration certificate be sure to include
it with the application.  Pictures may be submitted on floppy disks, CD's, DVD's, or it can be
